Yes. Why does everyone say that literature instantly makes you "smart" when there is so much crap? In fact I'd rather watch "My Little Margie" than those inane books children were forced to read in the 50's such as "Dick and Jane".

To be perfectly fair, "Dick and Jane" is pretty bad after you've learned to read better than that level. It's not literature. If you want real literature, get your mind out of the Juvenile section of the library!
